  • sensing periphery - led movement practice

Beyond making work, I would like to foster meaningful connections through a regular practice and artistic offering. Sensing Periphery is a dance session open to all, dancers and non-dancers alike. A note on the name: inspired by early morning light, when attention is soft, and the edges of things become perceptible again.

Layers of practice:

__Awareness through gesture, and the logic of moments in transition, deepening, and quiet transformation.

__Guided improvisations, nourished by imagination and memories stored in the body, balance precision and spontaneity as we take our place in time and space.

__Material and form study of “Mongolian dance my mom created and taught me, but different.”

truth is a sea of green grass,
rippling in the wind;
it longs for people to sense it,
to breathe it into their bodies
